Beautiful frames but they are smaller than I anticipated and do not fit right on my face. Every face features and size are different.

Great frames for small faces and heads.

The frames I’ve been looking for.

I love these! This is the first time I’ve ever purchased frames online for Rx. I’ve always been hesitant because of my High Nearsightedness (-8.50 both eyes), but these hide my edge thickness perfectly! *I did not have my lenses made via V&Y; but that’s only because I work in an Ophthalmology practice, I run the optical shop there and have access to a lab, lol. I had my lenses made in the thinnest index (1.74) and had the edges high luster polished. They look great on me! It’s hard for me to find smaller round frames that I KNOW will do a good job hiding my lens thickness. Anyway, these are fabulous! I WILL be purchasing the other two colors. I have three other frames (from a different brand) all the same model in 3 colors, because they work so well with my Rx. I will carry on that tradition with these. Bravo! *if you’re also very nearsighted, consider round frames, IMO they do the best job hiding lens thickness, but of course you want to make sure that shape suits your face shape. It happens to be the most flattering shape for my face. xo

These frames just arrived, and I couldn't be more pleased. I also chose the yellow tortoiseshell, and the frames ARE predominately brown, as another reviewer commented. Not an issue for me: I think with tortoiseshell you always need to expect variation, but if the color is important for you then you might want to talk to someone at Vint & York before ordering. These frames are really attractive; I'm tired of oversized frames that make me look like an eight-year old wearing my dad's glasses. These are relatively small, but not so small that I'm concerned about my progressive prescription. And the hinges are springy! That was a pleasant surprise. Really, a very hip and distinctive look.

First off, these are beautiful frames. Making and shipping were fast. My Rx is a tough one (I'm VERY near-sighted) and it's accurate. I usually get very small eye openings in frames due to my Rx and I was concerned about these frames not accommodating my Rx thickness. With the thinnest lenses, just a tiny bit of the lens edges peak out on the sides.
Which brings me to my minor disappointments:
In Rx comments, I requested edge polishing of the lenses because mine are always visible no matter the frame. And I stated I was willing to pay an extra fee for that. This was not done; nor was I contacted about it. I think the white line of the lenses on the inside of the frames really detracts from the frame beauty. I'm surprised it's not offered. Seems like a commonplace addition.
My other minor disappointment was the frame color. I picked the yellow because online it really looks like there's a great deal of yellow pop color even with a hint of vibrant orange. In reality, it's just tortoise pattern: mostly brown with some translucent cream. These frames would be great in a saturated yellow, blue, or green.
All in all I'm impressed with the quality, style, and promptness of delivery. I really admire the array of retro styles offered. I would buy from V&Y again, but only if I could get edge polish.
